NYT Connections Highlight and Reorder

Updated October 2, 2026

Information handled

The extension reads NYT Connections puzzle words and the puzzle page path to identify each puzzle. It processes tile clicks, dragging, and keyboard shortcuts to provide highlighting and tile rearrangement.

Puzzle identifiers, words, color markings, and custom tile order are saved locally on your device using Chrome’s extension storage. Pointer movement and shortcut keys are processed to operate the interface; no keystroke or pointer-movement history is stored.

How information is used

This information is used solely to provide color highlighting, keyboard shortcuts, tile rearrangement, and restoration of saved markings and order when you reopen or refresh a puzzle.

Storage and retention

Saved puzzle settings remain in local extension storage until removed or replaced. The extension limits saved settings to 40 puzzles when saving changes. It does not use Chrome’s synchronized storage or send saved settings to a developer-operated server.

Sharing and tracking

The extension does not transmit this information to the developer or third parties. It does not use analytics, advertising, or remote executable code. It does not access unrelated websites or collect personal, financial, health, authentication, location, or communication information.

Data is not sold, shared, or used for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to the extension’s features. Its handling of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your controls

You can remove individual markings using Eraser, remove the current puzzle’s markings using Clear colors, or reset its tile order using Reset order. Uninstalling the extension deletes its locally stored data.
